1. What is this?

This is a banner exchange to link the Commodore c64 computer scene on the internet. Anyone participates will display banners on on his site and receive free advertising on other c64-related sites aswell. The participation is free of charge and for c64-related sites only. This is not a commercial service.


2. How do I join?

First you will have to create a banner and put it up on your site (see 3.). Then you go to the Homepage of the C64 Banner Exchange (http://scenebanner.net/c64/).

There you choose an advert name and a passwort and enter it into the form for the creation of a new advert. On the next page, please enter your Name, E-Mail-address and the URL that the banner ad should be pointing to. Put the URL of the banner on your server into the field Banner URL(s) (you can add several ads here seperated by a linefeed). When you are finished press the Button that says "add/edit advert".
You will then be shown your ad-status (which should be zero anyways) and the HTML-code to insert on your own page. After you inserted the code into one (or several (see 6.)) of your pages, you're all set.

3. What size/format does my banner have to be?

Your banner should be 400x40 pixels. It can either be a JPG or a Compuserve GIF. Please make sure that you put the banner up on your own server before applying (see 2.) for an account and have the URL at hand.
Try to keep the banner size smaller than 15Kbytes.

4. How often will my banner be displayed?

The banner shows all banners in random order - one by one. Once the entire list has run through once, it will be randomized again.

5. When will my banner start being displayed?

Your banner will start showing up on the other particpating sites after:
1) your changes have been approved by one of our admins. This may take up to a week.
2) you have properly set up the banner-display code on your own site
When adding your site to the exchange (see 2.) make sure that you enter a working e-mail address, so we can contact you if necessary.

6. Can I put banner on several pages within my site?

Sure you can and you are welcome to do so. This will also give you extra credits for the display-ratio of your own banner.
When you do put ads on different HTML-Pages within your site, please make sure that you change the "page=XX" (in the HTML-code for the advertising) to different values for each of your pages. Otherwise the advertising program will not be able to properly compute the amount of banners shown on your site.

7. Can I also just display banners on my site if I do not have any banners of my own?

Sure you can and you are more than welcome to do so. Just insert the following code into your webpage:
